Posts have been few and far between the past few weeks due to the fact that we're moving from our Northern Virginia apartment in just TWO WEEKS! I feel like I'm living in a dream. It's very surreal to be planning for an experience so unlike anything familiar. We’ve gotten passports (thanks to the super-awesome Kristen Sabella!!!!!), working on our Visas, signed a contract for a furnished apartment in St. Andrews and bought a large duffel to round out the four pieces of luggage that will hold all the possessions we will take to Scotland.
With the new and exciting to contemplate, it was wonderful to commemorate America’s birthday with the most normal of activities while relaxing in a cabin in West Virginia. It was a holiday without the normal festivities like fireworks and lots of family. However, there were some welcome additions not the least of which was reading on a screened porch with the music of rain falling on the surrounding trees…and more sleep. Glorious.
