We miss you already!!! Thank you for a relaxing time together. (I realized just how relaxing when my cyst pain, which had been absent all week, kicked in again today -thanks for pampering us all!)

San Antonio weekend

San Antonio Fifth Anniversary trip

Last weekend when my parents visited, Stephen and I were able to steal away to San Antonio for two full days to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. We were so grateful for some R&R and a night on the town. The trip held many highlights and one not-so-high-point: I fell in an uncovered manhole while walking back to the hotel after a down pour. It was still drizzling and between squinting my eyes and the deceptive appearance of the hole due to rushing water, I fell in to about the top of my thigh on one leg, my knee on the other. Amazingly, after a couple hour rest, we were able to head back out for the evening and enjoy a pleasant day following. I was tempted to post a pic of my incredible bruise starting at the top of my right leg and going down to below my knee, but I'll refrain :) So, the first day aside from that little incident, we were still able to enjoy the San Antonio River Walk and an evening visit to the Alamo. The next day we walked the river walk a bit more stopping for lunch at a delicious Mexican restaurant that serves the most amazing salsa. Then we headed to the Japanese Tea Gardens housed in a transformed rock quarry before finishing out our trip with a jaunt along the mission trail that leads to the remaining four missions of San Antonio (after the Alamo).

Time to update.

This post will not be much of anything...a few pics, a few asides. Stephen is on "break" from UD for the next couple weeks. Summer term starts early June. In the meantime, we're just hanging out (J does this better than the rest of us), working on a few house projects, looking forward to visits from both sets of grandparents, and celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary tomorrow (!). Stephen is also working on grading and prep for teaching next year as well as a few days of meetings next week (boo!).

Beth Long came to visit a couple weeks back and we had a mini PHC reunion with Lauren and Nick and Anita involving lots of yummy pizza and ice cream. Joseph and Nora had spent the previous night with Nick and Anita and by all accounts had a fabulous time (I know I enjoyed the break!). Once again, Anita posted pictures and I loved seeing them.

This isn't the best pic, but it shows a couple fun things. I have a baby bump. Joseph is getting tall. And Nora in that dress with white plastic beads looks like a little lady. I love my kiddos.

And for my sisters and anyone else interested, here is a hair cut pic. The cut is not dramatic, but the gal did a really good job and I'm loving having a style again (it had been months ...and months since the last cut :-P)
